Selection Criterion:-

All the candidates who have successfully applied for the SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination 2018 will have to go through the three phases. Each and every phase has to be qualified by the candidates. Firstly the candidates will have to qualify the Tier-1 that will be conducted in the month of March. Now the candidates who will be qualifying the Tier-1 will be appearing for the Tier-2. The Tier-2 will be conducted in July. The last phase which is Tier-3 will be conducted only for those who will qualify the Tier-1 and Tier-2.

SSC CHSL Tier-1 Exam Pattern 2018

  • There will be four sections of the Question paper.
  • Each Section will cover 25 questions so that the total number of questions will be 100.
  • The candidate will be awarded with 2 marks for every right answer.
  • For every wrong answer there will be deduction of 0.5 marks.
  • No marks will be deducted for the not attempted questions.
  • The examination will be online that is computer based.

  • The candidates will have to type 35 wpm in English and 30wpm in Hindi.

It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/ Number Analogy, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation ,Semantic Classification, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/ Number Classification, Drawing inferences, Figural Classification, Punched hole/ pattern-folding & unfolding , Semantic Series, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Figural Series, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding and de-coding, Other sub-topics, if any Numerical operations.

Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time and work. Algebra: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations. Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts: Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles.
